What is Evaporation in Cooling Tower

Evaporation is the process in which cooling water is utilized to its fullest extend in cooling tower. As such, the tower is designed to expose the maximum transient water surface to the maximum flow of air.

The spray-fill cooling tower attempts to undertake the basic function by spraying the water into fine droplets and in containing those droplets to fall through a mechanically-induced, upward moving stream of air.

Engineers say, the overall cooling effect would be improved by increasing the height of the tower, thereby increasing the height of the tower. This increases the distance of water fall and maximizing the total time of contact between air and water.
