originated out of the development of condenser used in steam engine.
A condenser uses cool water to condense the steam coming out of pistons and turbines. However, the mechanism requires considerable amount of cool water supply. To overcome the challenging situation, engineers began to introduce several cooling water recycling methods effective in those areas where there was limited supply of water.
During the course of invention and innovation, they came up with quite a few designs. And, of the many outputs, cooling tower of today became the final choice of all.
Concrete Cooling Tower of today is a perfect example of the 19th century condenser where the water requirement is very high.
