How to Maintain Water Quality for Cooling Tower Use

Everybody knows that dirt particles blow with air and pollutes water used in cooling tower process.
Such situation effects the longevity of the equipment. Unexpected changes take place in the water quality. Take a look at the following points with the help of which operators can maintain water quality

  • A circulating water should maintain pH between 6 and 8
  • Chloride content in the water should be below 750 ppm
  • Sulphate content should be below 1200 ppm
  • Sodium bicarbonate content should be below 200 ppm
  • Chlorine, if used, should be free of residue and should not exceed 1 ppm
  • An atmosphere surrounding the cooling tower should be moderate industrial.
  • Proper water treatment service should be adopted frequently.
  • Scale ban should be used to get rid of water scaling
  • Metal utilized in cooling tower should be checked frequently.
  • Steps should be taken to control biological growth in the water.
