Terms used in Cooling Tower Calculation

Known to all, a cooling tower run on the principle of evaporative cooling process. In order to calculate the efficiency of cooling tower, engineers used certain terms and formulas.

Take a look at the mathematical terms used in cooling tower calculation

  • Dry Bulb Temperature
  • Wet Bulb Temperature
  • Inlet Temperature of Water to the Tower
  • Outlet Temperature if Water to the Tower
  • Relative Humidity
  • Dew Point
  • Dew Point Depression
  • Approach
  • Range

Approach is the difference in temperature between the cooled-water temperature and the entering air wet bulb temperature. Range is the temperature difference between the water inlet and outlet states
There are more terms used during the calculation.

Stay tuned till I disclose some very important formulas.
